Job Overview

Part‑Time SEN Teaching Assistant in Weymouth, Dorset. Pay £13.69–£14.61 per hour. We need a committed and compassionate assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in a warm, inclusive primary school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, promoting inclusion and engagement.
  • Assist with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and preparation of learning resources.
  • Support progress in key areas such as reading, writing and mathematics.
  • Record observations and contribute to assessments and IEP reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver effective support strategies.
Person Specification
  • Previous SEN experience is essential.
  • Patient, adaptable and nurturing approach.
  • Understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.
