Controller, Management, Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for a skilled Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Weymouth, Massachusetts. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining effective internal controls, and providing strategic insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a leadership position, managing a team while driving improvements in accounting processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Manage general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and oversee both month-end and year-end closing processes.

- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial data and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

- Develop and monitor annual budgets, analyze financial performance, and identify variances against expectations.

- Supervise cash management operations, including banking relationships, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.

- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

- Collaborate with external auditors to coordinate tax filings and manage audit procedures.

- Enhance accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

- Provide strategic financial insights and actionable recommendations to support decision-making by the business owner. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, including roles such as Controller or Accounting Manager.

- Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively, fostering detail-oriented growth.

- Proficiency in Quick Books and familiarity with managing multiple operating entities.

- Strong skills in financial analysis, reporting, and presenting actionable insights.

- Experience working with external auditors to ensure compliance and manage audits.

- Excellent organizational and communication abilities for collaboration and reporting.

- Capacity to adapt and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
