• Provide 24‑hour leadership for the unit, implementing hospital and nursing department goals and procedures.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with OSHA, JCAHO, DPH, FDA, and internal policies; report status to Divisional Director.
• Create and track incident reports, action plans, and safety audits.
• Oversee professional development: maintain licensure, pursue certifications, conduct goal‑setting, and facilitate staff educational opportunities.
• Lead problem resolution, including timely documentation and follow‑up of issues.
• Participate in shared‑governance councils, project teams, and committees.
• Manage fiscal responsibilities: hours, overtime, salary budgets, expense budgets, and capital equipment needs.
• Drive quality improvement: monitor dashboards, analyze Press‑Ganey data, and implement patient‑satisfaction initiatives.
• Handle human‑resource duties such as hiring, staffing, performance appraisals, and employee relations.
• Promote safety culture: enforce infection control, emergency procedures, and equipment safety.
• Coordinate with other departments to enhance patient care and workflow.
• Assist in operational and clinical systems enhancements to maximize resource utilization.

• Education: BSN required; MS preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years clinical, with at least 2 years managerial experience.
• Certification/License: RN‑Registered Nurse, Massachusetts board; ongoing certification as required.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
• Adept at using technology such as Lotus Notes or Meditech.
