Join our Team as a Per Diem Cardiac Echo Technologist at South Shore Health- Flexible Per Diem
Shifts:
Work during our operational hours - Sunday through Saturday 6AM-7PM - Advanced Technology:

Compensation Pay Range: $42.42 - $57.09
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- a - Acquires all necessary images and measurements according to lab protocols
- b - Interprets all techniques giving internal dimensions, wall motion and flow pattern analysis
- c - Quantitative abnormal valve areas calculating gradients
- a - Looks up patient information and previous echo exams in the patient’s electronic medical records system
- b - Completes exam documentation and billing info in the patient’s electronic medical records
- a - Writes preliminary interpretation for physician review
- b - Informs physician during reading session of any non-conventional views taken
- a - Ensures that all studies download correctly to GE server
- a - Able to utilize GE reading station including burning CD, downloading cases
- b - Able to utilize Epic (Electronic medical records)
- c - Able to utilize the electronic method of calling down inpatients in a timely and efficient manner
- a - Practices MD notification of "red values" as described in policy
Minimum Education
At least a (2) two year Echocardiography accredited program including technical and clinical training culminating in an associate degree or higher.
Minimum Work ExperienceAt least (1) one to (2) two years experience preferred.
Required Certifications- RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS))
- RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- Ability to demonstrate competency in echocardiography.
- Must be able to recognize abnormal structure and be able to correlate this information into a useful study.
- Must be able to deviate from normal techniques, when necessary, to develop new techniques.
- Must be able to utilize ancillary devices, i.e., selected transducers.
- Per diem, day shifts including occasional weekend days.
