About the role

For a 6-month Maternity cover, Vinarchy are looking for a Head of Customer Marketing who will be responsible for developing and executing customer-centric marketing strategies that drive brand engagement, sales growth, and loyalty across all key touchpoints in the European market.

This includes off‑premise and on‑premise channels, with a particular focus on creating tailored campaigns for multiple markets. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the FMCG industry, consumer behaviour, and the nuances of the retail and on‑premise landscapes, with a proven track record in delivering impactful customer marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Customer Marketing Strategy - Develop and execute the overarching customer marketing strategy for the Europe (Uk/ EMEA) region, aligning with global brand objectives and regional business goals. Create tailored strategies for off‑premise and on‑premise channels that engage customers, drive sales, and strengthen the brand's market position.
  • Retail Marketing Leadership - Lead the creation of innovative and impactful retail marketing programmes across key European markets. Develop strategies to enhance brand visibility and consumer engagement in-store/ in outlet, driving footfall and conversion in both traditional retail and customer e‑commerce channels.
  • On‑Premise and Off‑Premise Activation - Oversee marketing activities across the on‑premise (restaurants, bars, hotels) and off‑premise (supermarkets, wine retailers, e‑commerce platforms) channels. Tailor campaigns to each segment's unique needs, ensuring alignment with regional consumer trends and the brand's positioning.
  • Customer Insights & Data Analysis - Utilise data and consumer insights to inform and optimise customer marketing strategies. Conduct market research and collaborate with sales teams to ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with customer needs, local market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Collaboration with Sales Teams - Work closely with regional sales teams to ensure that customer marketing campaigns are effectively integrated with the sales strategy. Provide marketing support for key accounts, helping to drive in‑store and online visibility for the brand.
  • Promotions & Trade Marketing - Design and implement promotional campaigns and trade marketing initiatives to support product launches, seasonal activations, and key account growth. Work with the commercial and trade marketing teams to ensure consistency and impact.
  • Customer Journey & Loyalty Programmes - Drive customer loyalty programmes and initiatives that enhance the overall consumer journey, ensuring brand retention and long‑term relationships. Develop strategies to engage both new and existing customers, increasing lifetime value and brand advocacy.
  • Partnership & Relationship Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and on‑premise partners. Collaborate with these partners to create mutually beneficial marketing programmes that drive brand growth.
  • Budget Management & ROI Tracking - Own the budget for customer marketing activities across the EMEA region (Circa £6M), ensuring all campaigns are cost‑effective and deliver maximum ROI. Track and measure the effectiveness of campaigns and optimise strategies based on performance data.
  • Team Leadership & Development - Lead and mentor a team of customer marketing professionals, setting clear objectives and providing guidance and support to ensure successful execution of customer marketing initiatives across markets.
