Global Accounting Network are partnering with an international, PE backed retail business undergoing an exciting transformation and looking for an interim Financial Controller. As the interim Financial Controller, this is a senior, hands-on role that plays a pivotal part in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal governance. This position is ideal for a candidate with strong technical accounting expertise and leadership capabilities.

Main Responsibilities Lead the financial control, statutory reporting, and internal governance for the UK entities. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles. Own balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly. Lead external and internal audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and technical papers. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial results and business performance. Support the preparation and submission of regulatory and compliance reports. Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes. Participate in finance transformation initiatives and cross-functional projects. Provide clear financial insights and explanations to leadership, including variance analysis and key accounting judgements. Ideal Candidate Fully qualified accountant Strong technical accounting skills Experience running month end & year end activities Experience in a PE-backed, carve-out, or transformation environment Proficiency in ERP systems such as Oracle or Business Central French speaking would be advantageous
