Thank you for your interest in Hopes court School, an all-through specialist school within Bourne Education Trust, supporting children with Autism and related communication and interaction needs.
Since opening in September 2024, Hopes court has grown into a school where learners exceed expectations. This month our growth continues as we move into our new purpose-built school on Waterside Drive, Walton-on-Thames - a learning environment designed specifically to meet the needs of our children.
Our new building features flexible classrooms, therapy spaces and communal areas supporting independence, collaboration and wellbeing. Here, pupils will access specialist support alongside high-quality subject teaching, combining the best of mainstream and specialist education to ensure they can make excellent academic progress while developing socially and personally. The roleAs Teacher of English you will be responsible for the learning, progress and wellbeing of pupils within your classes. You will deliver high-quality teaching, adapting curriculum and approaches to meet a wide range of needs, and working closely with specialist staff to ensure pupils can access learning and make progress.
Key responsibilities- Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability of the individuals and classes you teach, preparing and developing teaching materials, programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate
- Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of all pupils within your class/es, planning effectively to ensure that pupils have the opportunity to meet their potential
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Demonstrates a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Has a secure understanding of the relevant curriculum and wider educational issues
- Has strong communication skills and can work effectively with pupils, families and a range of professionals
- Is reflective, committed to ongoing professional development and open to feedback
- Is confident using data and digital tools to support teaching and learning
- Shares our belief that no child should have limits placed on their potential
