The Education, Access, Quality and Improvement (EAQI) service is offering an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Service Manager to join our fantastic Educational Effectiveness team based in Weybridge.
In this newly created management role, you will work alongside the Service Manager to ensure Surrey meets its statutory duties and drives educational excellence.

About
The Role
From January 2026, EAQI will implement a bespoke quality assurance framework, expanding the Educational Effectiveness team. In this newly created management role, you will support the current manager to develop the service further, and drive educational excellence. This is a fast-paced role, ideal for a passionate, experienced educator who thrives on collaboration and strategic influence.
The current education landscape is going through a period of change which brings with it the opportunity for professional development. This position offers you the chance to play a senior role in shaping educational effectiveness.
Your key responsibilities as a Deputy Service Manager - Educational Effectiveness will include:
Leading and coordinating quality assurance visits to provisions across Surrey
Using the framework and supporting documents to review educational offers and prioritise and conduct visits, either independently or as the coordinator of a group of professionals. You can expect to experience a range of provisions across the county
Liaising with a range of partners including colleagues in other local authorities and commissioned services
Participating in on-line or in-person meetings with key professionals from commissioning, education safeguarding and EAQI related to the visits Sharing assessments and recommendations in multi-disciplinary meetings
Producing clear visit records and supporting the development of action plans
We will provide the necessary training, support and supervision to ensure you feel confident and competent in your role.
Your Application
In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:
Qualified Teacher Status and leadership experience in an education setting which you can utilise to support the development of an expanding service with a sharp focus on meeting statutory duties and responsibilities
Understanding of the key elements to delivering safe, inclusive, high-quality education
Ability to lead quality assurance visits after a short induction
Ability to write concise reports and provide recommendations for use in multi-disciplinary meetings
Ability to analyse and interpret educational data
Skilled and confident communicator with a naturally collaborative approach
