Overview A well-established accountancy practice is looking for a NEW Senior Accountant position within their team. This role will involve preparing accounts, supporting directors across a variety of client portfolios, and offering hands-on assistance with bookkeeping systems such as Sage, Xero, Quick Books, and Excel. This role is Monday–Friday, 37.5hrs, with a supportive and friendly team structure. Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed. Duties Preparation of accounts for clients as requested by the directors – IRIS or otherwise Including basic tax computations (sole trader / partnership and unaudited company accounts) Analysis of accounting data and supporting documents for the purpose of clients' income tax affairs (e.g. income and expenditure accounts) Assistance with the preparation of regular management accounting information from client data and liaising with the relevant director Preparation of VAT returns on behalf of clients and liaising with directors/clients as required Providing accounting support as required by directors, including maintenance and preparation of client accounting systems Support and advice to clients on systems such as Sage, Xero, Quick Books, and Excel (bookkeeping requirements) Preparation and posting of opening balance journals Preparation of draft Corporation Tax computations Assisting directors with filing returns and computations with relevant authorities as directed by the partner Preparation of other accounting or tax schedules as instructed by the directors What we're looking for A successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate circa 4 years prior UK Practice experience with exposure to duties named above.
