Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Base pay range

$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Position overview and responsibilities are described below. This role supports customer service, sales, and pharmacy-related activities under supervision, in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Registers sales on the assigned cash register and provides courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy; uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and to process prescriptions, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolves questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Maintains clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves; assists with inventory and pricing as directed by management.
• Performs duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information and supporting workflow in the pharmacy.
• Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Handles customer service tasks across store operations, including recommending items, processing purchases, returns, exchanges, and assisting customers in locating products.
• Provides customer service in the photo area and supports related services as applicable.
• Supports store maintenance, asset protection, and compliance with store policies and procedures.
• Completes assignments and special projects as directed.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated program and/or state-required certification/registration.
• Attends training and completes required learning, maintaining knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy trends.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
