Overview
Redland Hills Church in Wetumpka, Alabama, just outside the capital of Montgomery, is a 12-year-old church seeking a full-time Student Pastor to join us in reaching students for Christ. This non-denominational church began in 2014 with a core group from within the Redland community who wanted to reach their immediate neighbors. After beginning in a neighborhood clubhouse, they moved into an elementary school, and eventually their own facility in April 2018.
The church has grown significantly since that time. We are currently constructing a new 13,000 sq ft addition for a new worship center and office wing. Today, the church has more than 75 students in 7th-12th grade and 200 kids 6th grade and down. Our heart is to not just love these students, but to empower their families as well.
Wetumpka (as recently made famous by HGTV’s Home Town Takeover) is located just outside the capital city of Montgomery in central Alabama. It is a beautiful and scenic town on the Coosa River. The natural beauty includes the foothills of the Appalachians for hiking, kayaking, biking, fishing, and hunting. Wetumpka is just a thirty-minute drive to the lake, a two-hour drive to Atlanta, three hours to the sugar sand beaches of the Gulf, and four hours to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The community is expanding with new homes and new schools. Tremendous opportunities exist in this area to minister to these families. We have an outstanding school system with a brand new middle school of more than 600 students 5th-8th grade that opened in the fall of 2022. Our local high school boasts more than 1,200 students. This church family is excited about the future and the important part that student ministry plays in developing followers of Jesus.
