Contract Details
- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 9 Weeks
- Start: As Soon As Possible
- Pay Rate: $20.24 – $22.00/hour
- Shift/
Hours:- Monday–Friday between 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Alternating Saturdays: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Job Overview
The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as the face of the organization for patients seeking routine and life-defining diagnostic services. This role requires advanced phlebotomy expertise
, leadership capability, and the flexibility to support multiple sites and care environments
, including Patient Service Centers (PSC), physician offices, long-term care facilities, mobile services, and house calls. The position demands excellent customer-facing skills
, strong attention to confidentiality and accuracy

Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary collections across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures
- Provide float coverage across multiple locations and roles as required
- Ensure daily PSC/Mobile/LTC/In-Office phlebotomy activities are completed accurately and on time
- Act as a lead resource on site, stepping in to guide PSR staff when needed
- Serve as coach, mentor, and trainer for new employees and onboarding clients
- Act as point of contact for site staff and provide feedback to supervisors or group leads
- Support high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy and communication skills
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Laboratory Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics
- Maintain patient trust by explaining procedures clearly and professionally
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)
- Strong customer service and patient interaction skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership behaviors and professionalism
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
- Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred elsewhere)
- Minimum 3 years of PSC/IOP experience
- Prior retail or service-based customer service experience
