Senior Tax Accountant

Simione Macca & Larrow LLP is a Certified Public Accounting Firm with two locations in Wethersfield and Wallingford. We are looking for Accountants with 3+ years experience in public accounting including tax experience to join our Firm. Positions are available in both locations.

Full-time, on-site role for a Tax Accountant in either location Wethersfield or Wallingford CT. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns. Key responsibilities include conducting tax research, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, assisting with tax planning strategies, and managing filing deadlines. The role also involves providing support and guidance to junior accounting staff, collaborating with team members, analyzing financial data, and working with clients to address tax-related queries and strategies.

• Strong skills in tax preparation, compliance, and tax planning
• Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and analyzing financial statements
• Experience with tax research, problem-solving, and staying updated on changing tax laws
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing client relationships
• Proficiency in tax software and accounting tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field (CPA preferred)
• Prior experience as a tax accountant or in a senior accounting role
• Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy in financial and tax-related tasks
