Healthcare Supervisor – Summer 2026

The Town of Westwood seeks a talented individual for the seasonal position of Healthcare Supervisor for the Westwood Recreation Department Summer Camp. The Healthcare Supervisor is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the Camp through sound health promotion and practices while complying with the MA Department of Public Health Regulations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • During the preseason and when program is in session, screen Camper medical forms via the electronic health record system, including reviewing camper physicals and immunization forms to confirm they meet the MA Camp Regulations to attend camp.
  • Manage, document and administer medication.
  • Administer first aid and attend to injuries at camp.
  • Communicate injuries and illnesses with supervisors and parents in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with state regulations.
  • Maintain medical supplies, keeping them stocked, organized and prepared.
  • Track and, when needed, administer emergency medicine, including ensuring Epi-Pens are distributed and collected daily.
  • Serve as first responder and manage emergency medical situations at Camp until EMS arrives.

Qualifications and experience: Healthcare Supervisors must be at least 18 years of age. First Aid, CPR/AED certification is required. Prior medical experience and certifications are preferred (RN, BLS, WFR, etc.) Ability to work with children of varying ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills necessary.

Schedule requirements: Mandatory staff trainings the week of June 8th (evenings). Work commitment Monday-Friday, June 29 - August 14, 2026 (No July 3rd).

Schedule is predicted to be 8:00am-4:00pm, subject to change.

Salary and Benefits: This is a seasonal, non-benefit position with a starting hourly rate of $20.00-$29.75 commensurate with experience. Eligible for a $500 perfect attendance bonus. Employee Discount of 100% on in-house programs, e.g., camp for full-time staff and their immediate family.
