SummaryProvides assistance and coverage for staff in the area of direct‑care to individuals. Complies with all principles of Human Rights, D.P.P.C., Department of Developmental Services, the Division of Medical Assistance and all other applicable funding regulations adhered to by Lifeworks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Promotes optimal health for individuals through routine, preventive, and emergency health care.
- Maintains regular communication with individuals and team members. Maintains confidentiality and professional demeanor with regards to all individuals and staff members.
- Provides mobility and transfer assistance, which may include mechanical lift devices.
- Prepares meals and snacks; may include grocery shopping.
- Performs housekeeping activities including sweeping, mopping, laundry, and linen changes.
- Assists with incontinence care.
- Assists with transportation needs.
- Attends regular staff meetings as necessary.
- Other duties and/or assignments to work/program locations based on the needs of the company.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED required; related experience preferred.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write and proofread routine reports and correspondence; speak and present effectively before individuals or employees of an organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Vehicle and TravelRequires a legally insured and inspected automobile for use during working hours. If the program has an agency vehicle, staff are expected to drive it as needed.
Certificates, Licenses, and RegistrationsValid and current driver’s license from the state of residency; CPR, First Aid certification, and Medical Administration certification.
Physical DemandsEmployee regularly uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; speaks or hears; stands, walks, sits, and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; tastes or smells. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires close vision.
Work EnvironmentEmployee frequently exposed to outside weather conditions; occasionally wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Noise level usually moderate.
