Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Westwego, Louisiana. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions while adhering to company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining precise records.

Responsibilities:

- Process invoices and payments in a timely and accurate manner.

- Maintain and update vendor accounts, ensuring all information is current and correct.

- Reconcile discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders.

- Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal teams regarding payment status.

- Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing necessary reports.

- Monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with company policies.

- Collaborate with other departments to resolve payment or invoice-related issues.

- Prepare and maintain financial documentation for audits and reporting purposes.

- Ensure proper coding of invoices to relevant accounts.

- Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and implement solutions. Requirements - Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- High school diploma or equivalent, with additional education in accounting preferred.
