Legal Secretary
This is a full-time on-site Paralegal role based in Stamford or Westport, CT.
Fairfield County based matrimonial firm, Siegel, Colin & Kaufman, P.C seeks experienced paralegal with demonstrated interest in family law to join its busy practice. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, agreements and complex financial affidavits; tracking and organizing document production; hearing and trial preparation; and daily client contact.
The successful candidate will be capable of managing a heavy and complex workload that requires knowledge of family practice, including court procedures and filing requirements and adherence to internal compliance policies (e.g. conflicts of interest, privacy, deadline docketing, etc.).
Responsibilities- Draft, edit, format and proofread a variety of legal and financial filings;
- File management and organization (both digital and paper), including gathering relevant documents from the client and producing same. Establish and maintain client files in a timely manner using established firm protocols;
- Coordinate and track attorney schedules regarding internal appointments and Court appearances.
- At least two to four years of experience at a law firm, family law practice preferred;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), PDF scanning, Electronic Court Filing Systems, and ability to learn and use advanced software applications. Experience with Centerbase and Net Docs software preferred.
