Please note:
While the Nurse Technician position does not require candidates to be in their final semester, at this time we are primarily considering applicants who are in the final semester of their nursing program.
NURSE TECHNICIAN
JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Technician functions under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse as a vital member of the healthcare team. The individual will perform delegated functions of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. The Nurse Technician will utilize skills achieved through their educational programs and/or orientation within the scope of the position.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum
Required:
Individuals must meet one of the following:
* Nursing student actively enrolled in a board approved school of professional nursing and have completed two semesters of an Associate Degree program four semesters of a Bachelor degree program.
* A recent graduate from a board approved school of professional nursing and does not hold a temporary permit.
* A recent graduate who has been unsuccessful on the nursing licensure exam and is retaking the exam.
The Nurse Technician position will only be available up to 6 months from date of graduation.

Preferred/Optional:
Experience with direct patient care in an acute care setting.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum
Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
REGISTERED NURSE - ACUTE
JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse-Acute functions as a vital member of the healthcare team by demonstrating a customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism self-development, and teamwork. The individual utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families. The Registered Nurse-Hospital is expected to demonstrate excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills and make decisions consistent with hospital policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.
