Position: Elementary/Middle School Strings Teacher (2026-27 SY)
Position Overview The Weston Public Schools is seeking to hire an Elementary/Middle School Strings Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This is a full-time position with teaching responsibilities at the elementary and secondary school levels. About the Weston Public Schools The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade
3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 160 students (K-12).

* Use questions, prompts, and discussion techniques to cognitively challenge students, advance high-level thinking and discourse, and promote metacognition
* Intellectually engage all students in learning through well-designed learning tasks and activities that require complex thinking, and include appropriate scaffolding
* Utilize formative and summative assessments to drive instructional planning, monitor student learning, provide feedback to students, and facilitate students' self-monitoring of learning Desired Qualifications
* Hold a valid Massachusetts license as a Music Teacher (all grades), by time of appointment
* Three or more years experience as teacher, preferably in a diverse public school setting
* Excellent team building and interpersonal skills
* Excellent communication skills - clear writer, effective facilitator/public speaker
