About the Role
Are you a skilled Gas Engineer looking to make a difference in your community? As a Gas Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our properties, ensuring they meet our high standards and customer expectations.
This is a mobile role, working predominately in the Taunton area, ideally within a 30‑minute commute.
- Fault Diagnosis and Repair:
Diagnose and repair domestic heating systems, including fault-finding, installation, and annual servicing. - Quality Workmanship:
Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, complying with building regulations and safety requirements. - Customer Service:
Demonstrate a positive and professional approach to our customers, ensuring the highest standard of customer service and satisfaction. - Maintenance and Testing:
Perform periodic testing and installation work, ensuring compliance with current best practices and guidelines. - Health and Safety:
Adhere to health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. - On‑Call Participation:
Take part in an out-of-hours on‑call structure and attend meetings and training as required.

About the Candidate- Post‑Qualification
Experience:
Proven experience in the gas industry, with a strong understanding of responsive maintenance. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in diagnosing boiler faults, performing annual servicing, and carrying out installation work. - Customer Focus:
Experience working in customers' homes, demonstrating a professional and positive approach. - Health and Safety Awareness:
Knowledge of health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment. - IT
Skills:
Proficient in the use and application of mobile technology. - Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
- Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with LPG and Oil systems is desirable.
- CCN1 (Domestic Core Element).
- CENWAT1 (Domestic Gas Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters).
- Desirable: CKR1 (Cookers) – required within a reasonable timeframe after probation.
- Desirable: HTR1 (Heaters) – required within a reasonable timeframe after probation.
- Desirable: LPG (Bottled Gas).
- Desirable:
Part L (Energy Efficiency Qualification). - Desirable:
Part G (Hot Water Safety and Efficiency). - Desirable:
Water Regs WRAS. - Desirable:
Unvented Hot Water. - Desirable: OFTEC (Oil Qualification).
- Desirable: OFTEC or equivalent (Solid Fuel Qualification).
Note:
This role is not eligible for a Certificate of Sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration without a CoS.
