Senior Quality Engineer — Somerset — £45,000 + Excellent Benefits + 9 Day Fortnight

The company is a specialist Automotive supplier working in partnership with OEMs to provide high-quality re-manufactured parts. Established over 70 years ago, the business has undergone modernisation and is experiencing growth as it strengthens its relationship with a leading Automotive manufacturer in the UK. The company employs 70+ staff and has a multi-million turnover, with a Quality department that has recently been strengthened under a Health, Safety & Quality Manager.

• Raising the Right First Time percentage rate for completed assemblies; after assembly, if there is a failure at testing, perform problem solving alongside root cause analysis to identify corrective measures for future assemblies.
• Collecting data over a period of time to identify trends, and continually reviewing after corrective actions to ensure trends move in the right direction.
• Reviewing and enhancing SOPs; auditing and reviewing existing SOPs to ensure they are enforced, identifying gaps, and incorporating revisions into the QMS system.
• Maintaining accreditations in place.
• Hosting external audits; addressing non-conformances from these audits and running 8D investigations to identify solutions.
• Supporting APQP processes for new supplier components.

• Previous experience working as a Quality/Senior Quality Engineer within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Someone practically minded – role will be 50% office-based and the rest of the time problem solving with people on the shop floor.
• Significant problem solving experience.
• Root cause analysis & 8D experience.
• Ability to work alone and provide support at a Senior level.

• £45,000 basic salary.
• An one day fortnight – the business works Monday - Thursday every other week.
