, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking an On‑Site Inventory Analyst to support the GPI, Elk Grove Village, IL facility. The On‑Site Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels of corrugate materials within GPI plant. This role ensures timely procurement, monitors inventory discrepancies, and collaborates with internal and external teams to support production schedules. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION
- Monitor and review GPI daily production schedules to determine corrugate material requirements for the plant.
- Track and validate changes in order quantities or delivery dates; collaborate with TRG and GPI teams to adjust plans and obtain revised purchase orders.
- Create and process daily requisitions in SAP for required corrugate materials.
- Verify current inventory counts prior to placing requisitions to ensure adequate supply for upcoming production needs.
- Manage daily releases of high‑volume materials stored by TRG and initiate replenishment requisitions as needed.
- Perform daily cycle counts of inventory bins to maintain accuracy.
- Conduct periodic reviews of aged inventory to identify and report obsolete materials.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, assisting in root cause analysis and resolution planning.
- Coordinate material substitutions or Packsize orders in the event of shortages to maintain production continuity.
- Monitor open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and accurate receipts in SAP.
- Facilitate resolution of Goods Receipt and invoicing issues by liaising with GPI’s Account Payables department.
- Receive and process board recommendations from GPI for new materials; create FOCUS projects for TRG’s design team.
- Provide GPI with required documentation (quotes, drawings, compression analyses) for new material requests.
- Request new print cards from TRG’s Design department for any new materials introduced.
- Participate in weekly cross‑departmental meetings to communicate schedule updates and address operational changes.
- Identify and resolve issues raised by GPI, coordinating with TRG to implement efficient solutions.
- Maintain proactive communication with all GPI departments through in‑person, phone, and email interactions to support inventory and production needs.
- College degree or related professional experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory control, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
- Understanding of corrugated packaging processes and materials is a plus.
- Degree in supply chain, or related field.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers and employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Familiarity with computer systems, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP.
- Requires extreme attention to detail and highly developed organizational skills to manage responsibilities.
- Utilize problem‑solving skills to understand/investigate issues and push for resolution.
- Utilize time‑management skills to multi‑task and proactively manage requirements of internal and external customers.
