Position Summary
The Director of Data Management & Integration is a key member of our North America organization and critical to our success with customers in the retail, apparel, and footwear industry. This individual will work closely with customers to understand their data architectures, business rules, and global data requirements for supply chain operations. A core responsibility is translating these requirements into executable plans using Nexgen’s proprietary data management platform—ensuring solutions are accurate, scalable, and aligned with strategic goals.
In addition to customer engagement, this role leads Nexgen’s global data strategy, system optimization, operational excellence initiatives, and cross‑functional collaboration. The Director serves as a primary liaison between customers, sales teams, and internal technical groups to ensure data‑driven solutions are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Industry Leadership- Serve as a key interface with customers, leading data‑focused meetings and collaborating closely with global sales teams.
- Represent Nexgen as an industry leader in data sciences, clearly articulating data concepts, strategies, and value propositions.
- Build confidence with global operations through strong communication and customer‑centric engagement.
- Partner with customers, sales personnel, and cross‑functional teams to translate high‑level business needs into effective application solutions, data sources, and workflows.
- Ensure proposed solutions align with strategic company goals and customer expectations.
- Develop and implement optimal data solutions that are scalable, well‑documented, and supported by strong data integrity procedures.
- Establish and maintain best practices for data validation, governance, and system documentation.
- Drive operational excellence by ensuring on‑time deployments, strong customer satisfaction metrics, and high‑quality data output.
- Provide effective program management with a strong sense of urgency and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Lead system architecture design, data integration strategies, business rules scripting, and ongoing solution optimization.
- Oversee triage, troubleshooting, and the resolution of operational issues to minimize friction and maximize team productivity.
- Coordinate with global teams across multiple functions, fostering collaboration, trust, and high‑quality execution.
- Support global operations through consistent communication, relationship management, and cross‑functional alignment.
Role Specifications
Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA required).
- 6+ years of experience in data operations, operational analytics, or reporting—experience in the retail, apparel, or footwear industry preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, cross‑functional projects with time‑sensitive deadlines.
- Hands‑on experience administering and optimizing:

Business Intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau) - •
Data Integration platforms (e.g., Boomi) - •
Data transfer technologies and ETL processes (e.g., FTP, sFTP, API) - Excellent customer‑facing communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a proven ability to collect, interpret, and present data in a clear and actionable way to senior audiences.
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities; can break down complex or ambiguous problems into structured components.
- Proficiency in data architectures and data management frameworks.
- RFID and QR barcode knowledge or experience is a plus.
Salary Range: $125,000–$175,000
Preferred candidates to be located in Chicago, NY, or LA.
