Overview
IBJI is looking for a professional, flexible and positive Patient Services Coordinator to join our MRI Office team. Bilingual Spanish is preferred for this location. The role requires a proven track record of excellent customer service, positive culture contribution, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Location:
Westmont MRI, Illinois Bone and Joint Institute (IBJI).
- Welcome patients and visitors by delivering high-quality customer service.
- Prepare paperwork to facilitate efficient operation and excellent service.
- Answer general inquiries and manage appointment scheduling.
- Phone reception, patient triage, and escalation to appropriate staff.
- Registration/pre-registration procedures, including review of patient demographics and insurance; advise patients on required documents.
- Check-in/check-out procedures and patient chart management.
- Collection and posting of patient responsibility payments (including copays and deductibles).
- Insurance verification and referral management as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Other office duties as assigned.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. - Experience:
Minimum one year of experience in a customer service role (medical office experience preferred). - EHR experience (Epic experience preferred).
- Skills:
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred; ability to handle highly confidential, sensitive, and non-routine information; familiarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications; insurance payer and eligibility knowledge.
- Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; flexible schedule as needed.
- Neat, professional appearance; strong written and verbal communication skills; results-oriented with attention to process.
- Willingness to attend and complete ongoing training to maintain responsibilities.
Evening shifts Monday – Friday, 1:00pm – 9:30pm.

SummaryThe main focus of the Patient Services Coordinator I is to deliver exceptional patient-centered service and support IBJI teams. Responsibilities include accurate registration, optimal patient scheduling, and other office duties contributing to a positive patient experience and helping the organization achieve its goals.
Physical/Mental DemandsWork may require hand dexterity for office machines, calculator, or computer keyboard; may involve stooping, bending, reaching, wearing a headset, and sitting for extended periods. Ability to view a computer monitor is required.
Environmental/Working ConditionsMust be available to work evening shifts Monday – Friday (1:00pm – 9:30pm). Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment with frequent contact with physicians, staff, patients, and the public. Some times may be stressful, and contact may involve dealing with upset individuals.
