Join our compassionate and dedicated team at Carroll Hospital, part of Life Bridge Health! We’re currently seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care on our PCU team.
Position SummaryAs a Registered Nurse on the Progressive Care Unit, you will provide comprehensive and patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process. You will be responsible for collecting and documenting health data, collaborating with multidisciplinary care teams, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a supportive and safe environment.
Responsibilities- Collect and document patient health data while maintaining patient privacy.
- Apply growth and development principles in all aspects of care.
- Promote a safe work environment by following Carroll Hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare teams.
- Formulate and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Coordinate resources for patient care and ensure readiness for patient discharge.
- Identify and respond to variances in patient outcomes; utilize read-back and escalation procedures appropriately.
- Support infection prevention and fall reduction through frequent rounding and evidence-based interventions.
- Administer medications safely, following established policies and the “5 Rights” protocol.
- Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and adaptability to institutional changes.
- Participate in achieving National Patient Safety Goals and quality improvement measures.
- Use critical thinking and clinical judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Promote patient flow and comply with timely admissions and transfers.
- Current Maryland Registered Nurse license (RN)
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association
- Acute care experience in telemetry preferred
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
