Job Description

The HVAC Specialist conducts pre‑build inspections and assembles HVAC units for rail cars, following drawing specifications, using hand, pneumatic, and power tools.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure compliance with company rules and policies.
  • Comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines and regulations; be energy conscious where applicable.
  • Understand and comply with applicable standards (ISO 9001, ISO 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, AAR, CMMI).
  • Maintain and safeguard business records.
Additional Essential Functions
  • Conduct pre‑build inspections of components and sub‑assemblies, noting any pre‑existing damage.
  • Use approved manufacturing work instructions to assemble components according to drawing specifications, adhering to quality requirements.
  • Provide support and assistance to other technicians and team members as directed.
  • Inform supervisor of any part or equipment defects noted during the build process.
  • Monitor the shelf life of consumables and follow established disposal methods.
  • Perform serialization of parts and follow work orders in SAP.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment and ensure compliance with company rules and policies.
  • Handle quality, product safety and HSE rules and regulations; be energy conscious where applicable.

  • Use electro‑mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and mechanical inspection tools.

    Required Education

    High School Diploma / GED

    Required Experience

    Sitting, standing, walking, alternate sitting or standing at will, crouching, pushing or pulling, kneeling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.

    Compensation and Benefits

    The hourly wage in Westminster, Maryland is $22.65, subject to experience and qualifications.
