Shift: 2:45PM-3:15AM | 12-hour shifts | Full-Time | On-Site
Department: Float Pool
Carroll Hospital is seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team. This is a premium opportunity for an experienced nurse looking to work across a variety of inpatient units. The Float Pool RN will be expected to provide high-quality, evidence-based care while floating between Med-Surg, IMC, PCU, CCU, and the Emergency Department based on staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Practice:
Utilize sound clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and decision-making - Clinical Practice:
Apply evidence-based practice and situational learning in patient care - Clinical Practice:
Accurately assess and document patient condition, pain, and comfort measures - Clinical Practice:
Develop individualized plans of care, discharge planning, and educational support - Clinical Practice:
Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate and integrate patient care - Clinical Practice:
Participate in daily team huddles, patient care discussions, and team meetings - Clinical Practice:
Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure timely follow-up - Clinical Practice:
Provide patient and family education to support informed decision-making - Clinical Practice:
Stay current with nursing best practices, research, and hospital protocols - Clinical Practice:
Engage in quality improvement efforts and peer review - Clinical Practice:
Demonstrate customer service excellence and uphold hospital standards - Clinical Practice:
Follow standard algorithms, protocols, and safety policies across all units - Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate and integrate patient care - Collaboration & Communication:

Experience:
Perform hourly rounding and proactive patient engagement - Patient Safety &
Experience:
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families - Patient Safety &
Experience:
Be aware of and work toward the reduction of Nurse Sensitive Indicators (NSIs)
- Active RN license with the Maryland Board of Nursing (or compact state eligibility)
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification – Required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – Required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an IMC or higher-acuity care setting
