The Nursing Practice Excellence Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Nursing Practice team at the hospital level, ensuring high‑quality nursing practices and consistent clinical standards across the organization. In partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and the Executive Director of Clinical Excellence, this role contributes to maintaining and enhancing coordinated nursing practice activities across the facility.
The Supervisor will promote evidence‑based practice (EBP) principles, facilitate data‑driven decision‑making, and support standardized clinical practices aligned with hospital priorities. As a working supervisor, this role will also provide direct support for designated units or service lines, actively participating in hands‑on problem‑solving, assisting with daily operations, and ensuring frontline teams meet clinical excellence expectations.
Key Responsibilities Evidence-Based Practice Leadership- Lead large‑scale literature reviews and synthesize best practices to inform system policies, clinical standards, and practice guidelines.
- Collaborate with entity practice leaders to implement and evaluate evidence‑based interventions across the system.
- Oversee the dissemination of EBP initiatives, ensuring system‑wide consistency and adherence to standards.
- Analyze and interpret system‑wide nursing outcome data, comparing performance across entities and benchmarks.
- Partner with LBH Quality to develop and monitor performance dashboards and KPIs related to nursing‑sensitive outcomes.
- Provide actionable insights to nursing leadership, guiding strategy, resource allocation, and improvement priorities.
- Lead hospital‑level regulatory and accreditation preparedness for nursing‑related standards.
- Provide operational leadership to the nursing practice team, ensuring alignment with system priorities and nursing practice operations.
- Develop, implement, and oversee documentation, communication, and reporting structures for system‑wide nursing initiatives.
- Supervise and develop site‑based nursing practice specialists, providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
- Build and sustain relationships across Life Bridge Health to ensure alignment and buy‑in for nursing and clinical initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison among hospital, service line, and system leadership to foster collaboration and facilitate change.
- Represent nursing practice initiatives in system‑wide councils, committees, and interdisciplinary forums.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in patient care.
- Mentor and coach nursing staff, promoting critical thinking and evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Collaborate with education teams to design and deliver learning experiences that support role competence and professional growth.
- Encourage staff engagement in shared governance, research, and innovation activities.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional accountability.
- Conduct structured rounds on assigned units to assess practice standards, identify barriers, and support staff in improving clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to address unit‑specific challenges and reinforce adherence to evidence‑based care practices.
- Provide real‑time consultation, coaching, and feedback to enhance clinical practice and patient outcomes.
- Maintain awareness of current regulatory and accreditation standards for nursing practice.
- Partner with unit leaders to ensure compliance and survey preparedness.
- Participate in mock surveys, tracer activities, and readiness reviews.
- Lead or assist in post‑survey action planning and follow‑up to sustain compliance.
