We are thrilled to announce a rewarding position as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Community Living Department. Our Community Living Department focuses on creating inclusive and supportive residential environments where individuals can thrive and achieve their highest potential.
DSP RateDSP RATE
: $19.68/hour with a $2.00 differential for weekends
You will support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their individual pursuit of a fulfilling life by working as part of a team in a small residential home setting. You will support residents with life skills and household tasks such as meal planning and preparation, laundry, and light housework; as well as assist with personal care, administer medications, and provide transportation as needed.

- Participation Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certification Program which offers annual cash bonuses.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points on record.
- Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Clean drug screen and criminal record (The Arc provides programs, services, and direct care to vulnerable adults).
- Completion of CPR, First Aid, Certified Medication Technician, and other trainings mandated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and The Arc.
- Ability to lift/manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently with ability to lift, carry and/or exert force in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally.
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing required:
Including lifting a wheelchair and repositioning an individual. - Ability to transfer individual from a chair to vehicle, bed to chair. Ability to position individual on a sling or Royer lift. Ability to physically secure individual in a wheelchair to the van with tie-downs.
