Title: Youth & Community Outreach Manager

Contract: 12‑month fixed‑term contract (February 2026 – January 2027, with potential extension subject to funding)

Location: Church Street, Westminster (NW8)

Work Schedule: 3 days per week, 21 hours with timing options 9:00–5:00 or 10:00–5:00, Mondays and Tuesdays required, third day flexible. Includes Saturday workshops and occasional evening sessions.

Salary: £21,300 per annum (gross, pro rata for 3 days per week) – full‑time equivalent £35,500.

Start Date: Mid‑February 2026

About the Programme

Voices from the Canal (working title) is an environmental arts and creative health programme supporting young people in Church Street, Westminster. Running from April 2026 to August 2027, the programme combines creative workshops, oral history recording, environmental arts training, and public showcases to build confidence, wellbeing, and creative skills.

We work with two groups:

  • Young people aged 10‑15 (Church Street and surrounding area): weekly creative workshops, environmental arts activities, oral history projects. Sessions run year‑round including holiday intensives. Expected to engage in depth with 60+ young people, with 100+ participating at some point.
  • Creative Change‑makers aged 18‑30 (North West London, Church Street prioritised): from July‑August 2026, an 8‑week environmental arts training programme for 15 young people aged 18‑30. Each will deliver a paid £200 workshop with the younger participants. One will be selected as Artistic Director in Residence for 12 months from September 2026.
Job Requirements

We are looking for someone with significant experience working directly with young people in community, youth work, education, or creative settings. The candidate must:

  • Have strong understanding of safeguarding and safe practice.
  • Build relationships with young people and families in diverse communities.
  • Be organised, approachable, and confident managing on‑the‑ground delivery, including supporting freelancers and young leaders.
  • Commit to inclusion, anti‑oppressive practice, and trauma‑informed approaches.
  • Have local knowledge of Church Street or surrounding areas and interest in creativity, environment, or creative health (desired).
Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and coordinating regular creative sessions for young people aged 10‑15.
  • Acting as first point of contact for safeguarding during sessions.
  • Carrying out community outreach and relationship‑building with families and local partners.
  • Supporting workshops led by freelance artists and young Change‑makers.
  • Maintaining attendance, safeguarding, and engagement records.
  • Collecting stories, photos, and case studies for evaluation.
  • Supporting delivery of showcases, exhibitions, and events.
  • Working closely with the CEO and delivery team to ensure smooth, safe, and high‑quality programme delivery.
