Work Schedule: up to40 hours/week,Monday-Friday8:00am-4:30pm

Hourly Rate: $18.00

Position Summary: The Summer Camp Educator is responsible for leading all aspects of a camp classroom during the 2026

Summer Camp season.

Leading a camp classroom successfully requires that the Summer Camp Educator , teach curriculum,monitor a room of up to25learnersages 5-9 lleq complete all other responsibilities associated with adhering to the requirements of the facility childcare licensure.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Lead all functions of daily camp programming including implementation andlogisticsonsite at Butterfly Pavilion.

  • Teach interactive nature-based summer camps to youth, ages 5‑9.

  • Work collaboratively with co‑counselors in providing and implementing camp curriculum and activities as needed.

  • Use live animals to demonstrate science‑based concepts to camp participants.

  • Implement all policies&procedures to meet the State license requirements.

  • Effectively manage classroom of 25 children.

  • Attend required branch and facility meetings as needed.

  • Medication Administration for all children that require medication in camp (Training will be provided).

Qualifications

Qualifications/

Experience:

  • Pursuing or holding a degree in education, environmental sciences, or related field

  • Basic knowledge and interest in the environment and wildlife

  • Comfortable interacting with school‑aged children and parents

  • Enthusiastic, fun, and patient

  • Previous experience working with groups of school‑aged children in a camp, school, or childcare setting

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Current Certification in First Aid & CPR (training may be provided)

  • Pass background check, CBI/FBI reports, and all Child Care License Requirements

  • A clean and passable background check is required to start the position. If the background check comes back and isn’t passable, then will not be able to start the position.

  • Complete Fingerprint Background Check by April 19th, 2026
