Scion Legal has been engaged to lead a confidential search on behalf of a respected and growing California-based law firm that is seeking a seasoned Employment Law Associate Attorney to join its expanding practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced employment defense attorney who is eager to take ownership of sophisticated matters, collaborate with a dedicated legal team, and contribute to high-quality client advocacy.
This role is well suited for an attorney with a strong and exclusive background in employment law defense who values proactive case management, professional growth, and a collegial work environment.
What You’ll Bring to the Table- 5+ years of exclusive employment law defense experience
- Strong background in employment law compliance, including wage and hour audits
- Hands-on experience drafting and advising on employee handbooks and workplace policies
- Demonstrated experience handling employment litigation and defense matters
- Knowledge of wage and hour, class action, and PAGA claims
- Required experience defending school districts
- Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to proactive and efficient case management
- Active membership in the State Bar of California in good standing
- Trial experience, though not required
- Experience with public entity defense
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload while maintaining attention to detail
- Strategic mindset with a client-service oriented approach
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven ability to manage employment law matters from inception through resolution
- Compensation Range: $110,000 – $285,000 annually, depending on experience
- Billable Requirement: 150 hours per month
- Average workers’ compensation caseload of approximately 70 matters, as applicable to role scope
