Position: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)  - Westland, MI

A full‑time Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available at a K‑12 day center serving a Severe Cognitive Impairment (SCI) population in Monroe County, Michigan. This onsite position is contracted through the current school year, from ASAP through 5/22/2026. The role requires direct work with students using AAC and assistive (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). providing specialized therapy tailored to this unique population.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive speech-language services to K-12 students with severe cognitive impairments
  • Utilize AAC and AT devices to enhance communication outcomes
  • Manage caseload in compliance with Michigan’s maximum limit of 60 students; specific caseload will be clarified during interview
  • Collaborate with educational staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
Qualifications
  • Valid Speech‑Language Pathologist license with CCC certification; candidates with SLP‑CF or SLPA credentials will not be considered
  • Experience working in school settings with K-12 populations preferred
  • Familiarity with SCI populations and usage of AAC/AT devices
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work onsite full time in an educational day center environment
