Base pay range will be determined by skills and experience. The role is eligible for team‑based bonus opportunities. Temporary associates are not benefit‑eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program. ResponsibilitiesResponsible for providing a quality dining experience by assisting the Dining Room Manager with oversight of staff and maintaining a pleasant environment. Provides direct supervision of at least two full‑time associates.
- Supervise daily operations of dining room, room service, and convenience store (if applicable).
- Assign wait staff to sections and side work; inspect work.
- Ensure room‑service orders are delivered timely and correctly.
- Ensure smooth opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain adequate staffing per shift and cover absences.
- Oversee resident billing of food‑service charges.
- Assist in producing weekly schedules within budgetary guidelines.
- Lead training of new associates and conduct ongoing training.
- Supervise special events.
- Assist service staff during mealtime and with greeting/seating residents and guests, as needed.
- In consultation with the Dining Services Director, hire, train, discipline, and terminate associates per company policies.
- Maintain the resident request logbook and forward requests to Chef or Food Service Director.
All duties may be assigned by the supervisor. This overview is not exhaustive.
QualificationsEducation and Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination.
Certifications, Licenses, and Special Requirements
Current Serv Safe certification required. Hold any local, state, or county food‑handling/sanitation licenses.
Management/Decision Making
Applies guidelines to make varied decisions within the department using sound judgment on moderately complex problems.
Knowledge and Skills
Extensive knowledge of dining operations; outgoing, cheerful, energetic, friendly, and organized. Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods. Works effectively with diverse personalities and treats people with dignity and respect. Ability to read/write English and communicate with residents and coworkers.
