Job Description:

Performs afull range of academic, personal, career, and transfer counseling activities with diverse student populations. These include but are not limited to,assisting college students, (which may include College Credit Plus students),in developing academic and career goals; creating and developing educationalacademic plans to degree/certificate completion and/or transfer; identifying and developing strategies and skills for adapting to the educational environment, and providing academic counseling to students in academiccurriculum areas.

Assists with New Student Orientations by providing individual academic counseling appointments and New Student Orientation presentations. May provide crisis intervention. Mayteach General Studies courses and student success workshops as needed.

Whenteaching credit and non-credit courses:
  • Prepares and delivers lecturers or learning activities to students on various topics in order to achieve certain outcomes
  • Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
  • Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers
  • Maintains student attendance records, grades and other records
  • Be available to students for coaching
  • Periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Counseling or Social Work
  • One year of secondary or post-secondary experience in counseling
  • Licensed/Licensed-Eligible from the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board or a state certification in school counseling
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience
  • Higher education counseling in the areas of academic program counseling, transfer counseling, study skills, student assessment, career development, career exploration, personal growth, personal counseling, employment search, college success strategies, college navigation, and crisis intervention

This is a Part-Time Faculty position, with the following set rate of pay: $942.00/Equated Semester Unit (ESU)
