Elementary School Teacher's Aide (TK-3), Fall 2026
Location:
Oaks Christian School, Westlake Village, CA.
Full-Time (10‑month program), Non‑Exempt, Category 4
Salary Range: $25.00 – $27.00 (per hour)

The elementary teacher's aide supports the lead teacher in the classroom by providing instructional assistance, maintaining a safe and orderly environment, assisting with student behavior, and preparing materials. The aide works under the teacher's direct guidance to foster student learning and ensures open communication with teachers and administrators.
Key Responsibilities- Instructional Support:
- Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
- Help prepare and set up educational materials and equipment for lessons.
- Support the lead teacher in implementing the classroom curriculum.
- Classroom Management:
- Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and field trips.
- Promote positive interactions and manage student behavior according to school rules.
- Maintain a clean and safe learning environment by tidying the classroom.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Record student attendance and assist with record‑keeping, including calculating grades.
- Prepare and organize lesson materials, such as printing, laminating, and creating handouts.
- Maintain classroom supplies inventory.
- Professional Development:
- Attend staff meetings, school programs, and in‑service training sessions.
- Additional Duties:
- Assist with car‑pool drop‑off and pick‑up to ensure student safety.
- Perform before and after school duties as assigned.
- Assist with planning and coordination of Student Life activities (e.g., spirit days, assemblies, talent shows).
- Carry out logistical needs as requested by the lead teacher or principal.
- Interface with parents and students to schedule meetings and facilitate communication with families and communities as directed by the Deans of Students.
The aide typically works from 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. with a 30‑minute lunch break. Morning punctuality is essential for car‑pool and attendance duties. Extra hours must be approved by the principal.
QualificationsHigh school diploma required; prior experience assisting in an educational setting preferred.
