Grant Writer & Manager

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell is a non-profit organization that builds and renovates affordable homes in partnership with families in need. Our mission is to provide strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, with the goal of increasing the number of homes built annually from one to five. Current projects include new home construction in Concord, retrofit of a barn into housing units in Westford, and completion of a rehab in Bedford.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated full-time Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our programs and initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of program development, contract management, and fundraising strategies. The Grant Writer will collaborate with various departments to gather information and create compelling proposals that align with our mission.

• Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
• Develop and write clear, persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate the goals and needs of our organization.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary data and information for proposal development.
• Edit and proofread grant applications to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to guidelines.
• Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including tracking deadlines and submission requirements.
• Maintain organized databases of submitted proposals, funding opportunities, and outcomes.
• Assist in program development by providing insights on funding trends and best practices in grant writing.

• This role is responsible for raising a minimum of $200k in FY26 and $400k in FY27 through growing our existing relationships and seeking new opportunities.

Salary range for this role will fall in $75,000 - $85,000 range per year.
