Raytheon is seeking an Optical Assembly & Potting Tech III, in support of the Global ISR Sensors and Software business. Tests and inspects optical components and systems using a variety of electro-optical, metrology, and inspection tools and software. This person will liaise with other departments where appropriate to ensure the Optical Assembly meets the required demands. This position will be located ONSITE at our Westford, MA facility.
WhatYou Will Do
- Tests and inspects optical components and systems using a variety of electro-optical, metrology, and inspection tools and software.
- Performs intricate/complex assembly and potting of optical components within specified tolerances.
- Interprets blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, reference planes, designs sketches and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) for operation, material, and dimensional requirements.
- Pulls kits from holding rack in production order.
- Performs various optical potting operations such as coating elements, stacking/assembly of optics, alignments, grinding, cleaning, or applying adhesives.
- Uses machine and hand tools to perform operations.
- Sets up and monitor chambers.
- Conducts various quality inspections such as pressure testing or pull testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Due to programs and projects this position supports, U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- SAP experience.
- Experience working with Electro-Optical assemblies used in surveillance and reconnaissance systems.
- Optics/mechanical/electro-optical experience.
- Clean room experience.
- Good dexterity skills required due to delicate handling of precision optical components.
- Follow oral and written instructions and have overall good communication skills.
- Familiar with Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to work independently within a team environment.
- Shift flexibility is critical.
- Team-oriented – actively participates and steps in for other commodities as needed.
