Overview
Position Summary... What you’ll do... Directs and guides members of management and hourly associates on proper customer service approaches and techniques by modeling excellent customer service and answering questions or providing information to customers and associates. Drives and ensures the financial performance of the facility by confirming that budgeted sales, wages and other expenses are achieved and by assisting the store manager in leading the management team to control expenses and align budgets with business needs.
Participates in community outreach programs and supports associates in serving as good members of the community by establishing and maintaining relationships with key individuals or groups, acting as the company representative and promoting company programs, events and sustainability efforts to the community.
- Directs facility operations by setting service level standards, ensuring quality assurance, supervising safety and operational reviews, and overseeing product presentation, pricing, signage, stock and inventory levels.
- Develops and mentors management and hourly associates; hires, trains, assigns duties, sets clear expectations, provides recognition, delegates objectives and develops qualified staff for growth.
- Drives execution of multiple business plans and projects; identifies customer and operational needs, communicates plans, removes barriers, allocates resources, measures progress, and adjusts performance; develops contingency plans and supports continuous learning.
- Promotes company policies, procedures, mission, values and ethics; supports Open Door Policy; evaluates plans and initiatives and engages with partners and stakeholders to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Collaborates to create a sense of belonging, attracts and develops talent, and fosters a culture of integrity, respect and accountability.
- Delivers customer-focused results using data-driven decisions; considers impact on customers, associates, shareholders and communities.
- Leads and participates in community outreach programs and external relationships to promote the company and its sponsor ships and programs.
- 1 year of general management experience to include financial accountability.
- 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year supervising 10 associates; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year supervising 10 associates.
- For facilities with ammunition or firearms, eligibility requirements and background checks as applicable.
- Associates must attend and successfully complete job-required trainings and assessments.
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (Live Better U and Bellevue University) with experience supervising 20+ direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring and firing.
