Role DescriptionPerforms quality control inspection and quality management system tasks in support of development and manufacturing of Portal Diabetes implantable insulin pump. This position requires a strong understanding of inspection techniques, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
Inspection- Perform incoming dimensional inspection of mechanical parts, using common hand measuring instruments as well as optical inspection systems
- May develop optical inspection system programs
- Perform in-process visual inspection of insulin pump assemblies
- Creates, reviews and stores quality management system records, especially inspection data and device history records (production travelers)
- Administers the cailbration and maintenance system including on-site visits by calibration suppliers
- Administers non-conforming material system
- May administer other quality management systems including document control and corrective and preventive action (CAPA)
- May participate in internal audits
- Assists quality department hosting of external audits by Notified Body and FDA
- High school diploma/GED
- At least 5 years experience in a medical device, automotive or aeronautics company manufacturing environment
- At least 2 years working as a QC inspector
- Experience performing dimensional and visual inspection of mechanical parts to engineering drawings and specifications/standards
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing a plus
- Experience with Keyence inspection systems a plus
- Experience inspecting welds a plus
- Basic knowledge of statistics a plus (including Minitab)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with MS Office applications
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Working in cleanroom environment for long periods
- Using microscopes to inspect for long periods
