This non-exempt position is responsible for producing high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Under close supervision, the Operator I performs assembly, repair, and testing operations for implantable medical devices, including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations according to standardized procedures.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for cell operations, traveler records, and quality records to ensure traceability.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and manufacturing leadership.
  • Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize electronic data collection systems and basic computer software.
  • Prioritize work based on sequencing and production requirements.
  • Handle and maneuver small components with precision.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures.
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while making sound decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to handle small components and parts.
  • Must adhere to strict cleanliness and contamination control standards.
  • Compliance with gowning and production area dress code requirements.
Dress Code Requirements (Production Area):
  • Clothing must be clean, non-shedding, and free of loose fibers or contamination.
  • No frayed hems, sequins, tassels, glitter, or loose-knit garments.
  • Clothing must fit under lab coat/gown and not extend beyond cuffs or neckline.
  • No open-toe, open-heel, sandals, clogs, or high heels (over 2 inches).
  • No nail polish, artificial nails, jewelry, exposed piercings, or visible body art that interferes with gloves/gowning.
  • No makeup or scented personal products (except deodorant).
  • Shoes must be worn at all times; socks or stockings required.
