Summary: The Human Resources Manager-Westfield is responsible for leading the Westfield plant HR Department; ensuring that the HR team is knowledgeable and provides appropriate support to the Westfield plant; and developing initiatives designed to improve culture, recruiting, and human capital management within the Westfield plant.
Responsibilities- Leads the Westfield plant HR Department. The incumbent provides guidance on a variety of HR situations and ensures that the plant HR department effectively supports plant operations. The incumbent oversees employee discipline meetings, investigations, and terminations. The incumbent oversees the plant HR staff, delegates assignments and duties as appropriate, and facilitates optimum performance from each member.
- Leads the talent acquisition and management process. The incumbent develops strategy and directs the marketing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of hourly plant positions. The incumbent actively works with production-related groups to develop strategies designed to retain employees and ensure that individuals receive career development opportunities. The incumbent identifies training opportunities and delivers presentations where appropriate.
- Leads Plant HR initiatives. The incumbent regularly reviews and makes recommendations to improve plant policies, procedures, and practices with respect to HR-related matters. The incumbent analyses HR metrics and develops data-driven strategies and compensation recommendations. The incumbent maintains compliance with federal and state laws, internal policies, and industry best practices.
- Bachelors’ Degree
- 3+ years of experience in exempt-level human resources role(s)
- Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner
- Demonstrated direct management and leadership of a team
- Proficient in both oral and written communication
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/other e-mail software
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting, especially within the food industry
- Experience as an HR Manager within a food manufacturing facility
Directly supervises a staff of exempt and non-exempt HR professionals.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment, with periodic time spent on a refrigerated manufacturing production floor. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting, driving, seeing, and hearing.
TravelOccasional travel to another facility may be required
