Manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

• Assess the patient’s physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care in the ED. Document appropriate information and share significant assessment data with appropriate disciplines.
• Adhere to The Westerly Hospital policies and procedures.
• Act as a clinical resource and role model.
• Actively participate in training and educational activities for other staff members.
• Demonstrate a high level of respect, dignity, compassion, and professionalism for all customers by utilizing the four tenets of Patient Family and Centered Partnership.
• Recognize and value the contributions of fellow employees and display cooperation and teamwork.
• Report to work on time, prepared to work, and follow hospital policies for lateness/absenteeism and time off requests.
• List duty/task determining competency.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience:
  
  ED experience required.
• Licence:
  Current state registration or eligibility to do so.
• Certificates: BLS, ACLS required; PALS certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
