Special Education Resource Teacher

Job Summary

This temporary position will evaluate students for special education eligibility; provide direct service to the needs of special education students; provide a summary of formal and informal assessments; attend evaluation team meetings; administer a variety of standardized tests and observe student(s) to determine current levels of performance on a short-term basis.

: 2/17/2026 - 6/18/2026

• Evaluates students for special education eligibility.
• Provides direct service to the needs of special education students.
• Prepares reports of formal and informal assessments.
• Attends and participates in evaluation team meetings.
• Administers a variety of standardized tests.
• Using a variety of evaluation tools and observation, determines current levels of performance and future potential for improved performance.
• Prepares and maintains documentation for Case Management.
• Participates in the IEP process, FBAs and behavior intervention plans.
• Provides direct service to students both in and out of the classroom.
• Helps students overcome behavioral challenges.

• Experience:
• Knowledge of Elementary School education.
• Case Management; ability to write IEPs, FBAs and behavior intervention plans.
• Must be able to provide direct service to students both in and out of the classroom.
• Must be able to physically provide classroom control.
• Certification and Licensing:
• Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
