Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for a dedicated Controller to join our team in Westbury, New York. This role is vital in overseeing the financial operations of a dynamic distribution environment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The successful candidate will lead accounting processes, financial reporting, and strategic planning while driving cost management and operational improvements.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory accounting, and payroll.

- Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements that comply with applicable standards and regulations.

- Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic planning, cash flow management, and forecasting efforts.

- Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to optimize inventory management and enhance working capital.

- Lead the development and execution of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing insights on variances.

- Mentor and manage an internal accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and attention to detail.

- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners to ensure compliance and optimal financial practices.

- Implement cost control measures and drive initiatives to reduce expenses while maintaining efficiency. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within distribution or logistics environments.

- Strong knowledge of inventory management, cost accounting, and working capital optimization.

- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with enterprise-level accounting systems such as Net Suite.

- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

- Experience in mentoring and developing accounting teams.

- Familiarity with financial compliance standards and regulations.

- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
