:
The Westbrook High School Girls Lacrosse Coach is responsible for building a competitive, inclusive, and positive program that emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal growth while aligning with the mission and values of Westbrook High School and the Westbrook School Department. The ideal candidate has strong lacrosse knowledge, the ability to teach fundamentals and strategy, and a commitment to supporting student-athletes academically, socially, and emotionally.

• Provide leadership that fosters a positive, respectful, and inclusive team culture
• Promote high standards of conduct and accountability for student-athletes
• Plan and conduct effective practices that emphasize fundamentals, skill progression, conditioning, and team strategy
• Teach lacrosse techniques and game concepts appropriate for the varsity level
• Develop players both athletically and personally, encouraging leadership and confidence
• Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback
• Supervise and collaborate with assistant and sub-varsity coaches
• Assist in coordinating schedules, transportation, facilities, and equipment
• Maintain accurate records related to attendance, eligibility, and team discipline
• Communicate clearly and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, and administrators
• Ensure compliance with all applicable rules and policies at the league and district levels
• Work closely with the Athletic Director and athletic department staff
• Support the development and sustainability of the girls lacrosse program at all levels

Required

• Knowledge of lacrosse rules, fundamentals, and coaching techniques
• Ability to teach skill development to athletes with varying levels of experience
• Must meet all coaching certification requirements (including CHRC, CPR/First Aid, and concussion training)

Preferred

• Prior coaching experience at the high school or youth level
• Playing experience in high school, college, or USA Lacrosse competition
• Experience developing practice plans and individualized athlete instruction
• Desire to build and grow the lacrosse program through recruitment and community engagement

Stipend per Westbrook Education Association (WEA) contract, based on experience and district coaching scale.
