About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated Snowflake Administrator and Data Support professional for a contract engagement with our Data Engineering Support and Operations team. This role will provide day-to-day operational support for our enterprise Snowflake environments, including handling user access requests, monitoring platform costs and usage, and assisting with performance optimization. You will participate in on-call rotation for production support, handle deployments and releases, and provide general data support activities across our cloud data platforms.
The ideal candidate brings 2-3 years of IT experience with exposure to cloud data platforms, intermediate Snowflake knowledge, and familiarity with SQL, Python, Linux, and AWS. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to apply their expertise in enterprise Snowflake administration, data platform operations, and cloud infrastructure while working alongside experienced data engineering professionals. Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and readiness to contribute from day one are essential for success in this contract role.

- Provide day-to-day operational support for Snowflake environments, including handling support tickets for access requests and user provisioning
- Monitor Snowflake costs and usage through dashboards and resource monitors, identifying opportunities for optimization
- Assist with creating and maintaining cost and utilization reports to support business decision-making
- Support RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) implementation by managing user access, roles, and permissions
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide production support for Snowflake and related data platforms.
- Handle deployments and releases from Git Hub
- Assist with configuring and maintaining Snowflake objects including databases, schemas, warehouses, and resource monitors
- Support data sharing and replication processes for internal and external clients
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to troubleshoot data pipeline issues and support ETL/ELT processes
- Help maintain monitoring dashboards and implement alerts for system health and performance issues
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps in runbooks and knowledge base articles
- Support audit and compliance activities by providing documentation and evidence as needed
- Assist with Snowflake query performance troubleshooting and optimization efforts
- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) testing and failover exercises
- Support general data platform operations including production troubleshooting and incident response
- Work with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform to support automation initiatives
- Establish and follow naming conventions, object tagging, and organizational best practices
- Respond to production incidents promptly and work independently to resolve issues or escalate appropriately
- 2-3 years of IT experience with exposure to cloud data platforms, databases, or data engineering environments
- Intermediate experience with Snowflake administration, configuration, or support
- Foundational knowledge of SQL and database concepts
- Familiarity with Linux and Python scripting for basic automation tasks
- Experience with Git/Git Hub for code versioning and deployment processes
- Exposure to tools and technologies such as AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda), Apache Airflow (MWAA), Python, Oracle, MySQL, Terraform, Git, Datadog, Informatica, and Alation
- Basic understanding of AWS cloud services and cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with role-based access control (RBAC) and security concepts
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and provide production support
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
