The Maine Health Regional Compliance Officer (RCO) role provides oversight of compliance activities and serves as a compliance, policy and regulatory subject matter expert. The RCO provides guidance to the assigned Local Health System's workforce on all manner of compliance related matters; develops and reviews compliance policies and procedures; creates and implements compliance education; identifies potential areas of vulnerability and risk;
and develops, implements and monitors corrective action plans to resolve instances of conduct that do not conform to Maine Health policies or to federal or state laws or regulations.
Bachelor s Degree preferred.
Certifications:
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred. If not currently certified, the candidate must become certified within one year of hire.
Five years of experience in a healthcare organization required. Knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical activities, coding/billing/reimbursement, quality improvement and risk management preferred. In-depth knowledge of the state and Federal rules and regulations applicable to healthcare settings preferred.
