NFI Massachusetts Inc., a non-profit human services agency, is currently seeking Part‑Time Youth Counselors for our two Intensive Residential Treatment Programs located in Westborough, MA.
Our IRTP's are short‑term locked facilities serving male and female youth who are referred through the Department of Mental Health (DMH). NFI’s two, fifteen bed IRTPsare state‑wide residential programs for adolescents who have a serious mental illness and/or severe emotional and/or behavioral disturbances. The goal for each client is to reduce their level of risk to allow reintegration into a suitable placement in the community.
We are seeking dedicated and qualified candidates with strong leadership skills to provide direct care to youth served within the program. Youth Counselors receive substantial training in developing healthy relationships with clients, trauma informed care, understanding mental illness, human services careers, and multi‑disciplinary training, eg; psychology, nursing, etc.
Hourly rate
: $22.00/hour |
Status: Part‑Time, 16 hours per week (Weekends)
- Provide direct care and support to all youth in the program.
- Ensuring the safety and security of the youth served.
- Helping youth develop life skills and social competencies.
- Mentoring.
- Helping to implement a trauma focused treatment environment.
- Demonstrating positive role modeling so they may elect healthier choices to and learn new skills to use upon their discharge from the program.
- Facilitate healthy and therapeutic recreational activities.
- Experience working with a similar population
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle is a must.
- High school diploma or GED required.
