CoWork Staffing is hiring a Production Supervisor in the Westborough, MA area! The Blown Film Extrusion Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production operations across extrusion lines, ensuring consistent film quality, efficient equipment performance, and safe work practices. This role oversees a team of operators and technicians while troubleshooting process issues, coordinating production changeovers, and maintaining compliance with quality and OSHA standards.
Responsibilities- Lead daily blown film operations including extruders, winders, haul-offs, and auxiliary equipment
- Supervise, coach, and train 5–10 operators and technicians per shift
- Conduct performance reviews, manage attendance, and resolve personnel matters
- Troubleshoot processing and equipment issues to maintain film thickness, material consistency, and minimize defects
- Coordinate line start-ups, shut-downs, and order changeovers to meet production targets
- Ensure all production meets strict quality standards and adheres to OSHA and internal safety protocols
- Complete production and quality documentation and provide detailed shift hand-off reports
- Plastic Blow Mold experience required
- 5+ years of plastic film extrusion experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of mono and co-extrusion (co-ex) processes, temperature profiles, resins, and additives
- Experience with extrusion equipment brands such as Alpine, Gloucester, or similar
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S process improvement methods
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
